Sinop (altgriechisch Σινώπη Sinópē, historisch Sinope), Hafenstadt und Badeort am Schwarzen Meer, ist die Hauptstadt der gleichnamigen türkischen Provinz Sinop im Norden Anatoliens. Sinop ist zugleich Zentrum eines direkt dem Gouverneur unterstellten Kreises, dem zentralen Landkreis (Merkez).
