Sulţān

סולימאן הראשון (בטורקית: Sultan Süleyman; בטורקית עות'מאנית: سليمان اول;‏ 6 בנובמבר 1494 (משוער) – 6 בספטמבר 1566), שנקרא סולימאן המפואר באירופה, או "הסולטאן סולימאן המחוקק" (בטורקית: Kanunî Sultan Süleyman; قانونى سلطان سليمان; בערבית: السلطان سليمان القانوني) בפי נתיניו, היה סולטאן האימפריה העות'מאנית בשנים 1520–1566. הוא בנה את חומת העיר העתיקה בירושלים והקצה ליהודים את רחבת התפילה באתר הכותל המערבי.
